Hello

After a somewhat up-hill struggle to get there, I became Mama to our tiny Jude four weeks early in the spring of 2017. I was mothering our French Bulldog Mabel long before that though and (much to Mr W's horror) discovered I was the type of person who celebrates their dog's birthday with party hats and home-baked dog friendly cupcakes. As Jude's first birthday approached, I did wonder how I would top the bash I threw for the bulldog...it turns out dinosaurs were the answer.

Despite her life of pampering, Mabel has taken to the new addition very well and I now spend my days separating an overly affectionate licky dog from an energetic toddler who apparently likes to be licked by said dog. It's a little bit chaotic, but a hell of a lot of fun watching these two form a friendship and I wouldn't change any of it for the world

We've recently moved from our home in Manchester, UK to Lugano in Switzerland and instead of going back to work as an English teacher, I am adapting to a new life as a stay at home Mum. A stay at home Mum in a new part of the world, with a new language to learn... it's a bit of a rollercoaster!

This foray in to the blogging world is my way of sharing my experiences, organising my thoughts and documenting those moments I might otherwise forget. If it helps people to realise they are not alone along the way, then that's even better.

If you fancy having a read of these ramblings, then grab a cuppa (or a gin - in fact preferably gin) and pull up a chair.

Thanks for stopping by.
